*First Announcement*
A one-day National Seminar on *Post-Modernisation of Libraries: Challenges
and Opportunities* will be held on 25 November 2011. This UGC sponsored
seminar will be organized by the Department of Library and Information
Science, V.P.M.’s Joshi-Bedekar College, Thane 400 601, (Maharashtra).
The proposed seminar focuses on the challenges ahead of computerization and
networking of libraries. These two accomplishments open several other
opportunities which have to be exploited to achieve full potentials of
automation and networking. Thus, the theme is a pointer to many landmark
decisions to be made at this stage. It will be a great turning point, as the
decisions made will have both local and global implications. Papers based
on experience and/or on some recorded applications of cutting-edge
technologies in LIS are invited on the following topics.
