Dear Colleagues, I feel it is a most saddening loss of the year when we have lost one of the most legendry scholar and stalwart, a great deciple, follower and disseminator of Rangantan's ideas and philosophy. He was the first Reader in the Department and to my understanding the student of first batch of M Lib Sc also. I got a chance to hear him number of times, he was an unparallel orator. He has contributed immensly for the growth and development of the profession. He has carved a niche not only for himself but also for the profession both at national level and international level. With his sad demise, the profession has lost a great scholar of the century. Profession and generations of professionals shall always remain indebted to him.
