However, uses often overlap. Especially when the goals are improved enterprise information with excellent data findability, analysis, and linking. Fortunately, most currently used taxonomies and ontologies are built on the same basic data model standard - the RDF (Resource Description Framework). Consequently, whether or not taxonomies and ontologies are extended in accordance with other standards they can still easily be connected in the same implementation or wider project.
