Dear members, I would like to know the eligibility norms for UGC funded major and minor reseach projects for LIS professinals in academic settings. One of my friend's application for minor reasearch project has been rejected by the UGC on the pretext that she is a librarian in a college (and not a Library Science teacher probably). When the appointment criteria (Qualifications, NET/SET), Payscale, Career advancement scheme, etc is similar between college librarians and LIS teachers, is it fair that librarians be denied research oppurtunities.
