MHRD recruitment rules for non-teaching staff of NITs

---------------------------- Original Message ---------------------------- From: mouni@nitt.edu Date: Fri, December 29, 2017 11:31 am -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Friends, Recently MHRD released the recruitment rules for non-teaching staff of National Institutes of Technology. It is surprising and shocking to note that Librarian has been made on contractual/deputation. The Dy. and Asst. Librarians Grade pays have been decreased to Rs.7600 and 5400 respectively instead of Rs.8000 and Rs.6000/. Incumbents who are already appointed in the GP of of Rs.8000 and Rs.6000/- will be moved to Rs.8600 and 6600 respectively after five years of services. The post of Assistant Librarian does not require UGC-NET qualification but made it desirable. NITs, institutes of National Importance, are raising their status to world class by demotivating and degrading the Library staff. Now this is a slow poison for NITs and slowly the will be introduced to all other institutions. I bring this matter to the notice of professional friends and associations to rise the matter with MHRD to restore the status of Library professionals at NITs at par with UGC rules. With regards, P. Mounissamy
