Librarians' Day Celebrations - "RUN FOR THE LIBRARY" Program
Dear Friends,
Please join us in celebration of Librarians' Day programme by participating
in the "Run for the Library" on 12th August 2010 the run starts at 8.30 am
from Vidhana Soudha and ends at State Central Library, Cubbon Park Bangalore
at 9.30 am.
All the professional Associations have joined their hands in organising this
programme. We have planned to distribute a T Shirt with Dr.S.R.Ranganthan's
Photo in the front and Five Laws of Library Science at the back. At the end
of the Run programme Department of Public Libraries have arranged Tea for
the participants. We are also exploring the possibilities of giving
certificates to the young Librarians who need the ceritificate for their
participation.
We are trying to invite leading Writers, Poets, Literay gaints to
participate and give message to the public at large towards promotion of
reading habbit. Many political leaders have also been invited to be with us
on this event.
I request all of you to kindly spare your morning for this event. This will
exhibit our unity and solidarity and help all asociations to work with
greater zeal.
Many of the professionals may not be able to read this message. So, please
do not sit quite after committing yourself to attend this programme. Please
call all your friends and alert them to attend this event. I need at least
300 participation to br presnt on that day.

In Commemoration of S R RANGANATHAN BIRTHDAY event, all library associations of Karnataka state have organized “RUN TOWARDS LIBRARY” on 12 th August 2010.
This is to create reading awareness among youths, general public and all.
RUNNING DISTANCE: From vidhna Soudha to state central library
VENU: VIDHANA SOUDHA (Gopala Gowda Circle, Gate number 3)
DATE: 12th August 2010, Thursday
TIME: 8.30AM
DURATION: One hour
Request all the professionals to assemble at the above mentioned place 15 minutes before event starts.
T-shirt will be given to each participant’s. Participant’s confirmation enables the organizers to arrange for the sufficient number of T-shirts.
