Friends, Recently Financial Times of London wrote about the University of Sorbonne's decision to ditch commercial citation databases and move over to OpenAlex. Here is a blog post from folks at OpenAlex. https://blog.ourresearch.org/coverage-in-the-financial-times-of-openalex-and... . If you/your library has access to the online edition of FT, please send me the full article. Most Indian libraries (and library consortia) would do well to follow Sorbonne and encourage our scientists and scholars to use open access databases and use the money saved for advancing science and scholarship. They may also support financially open access primary (non-journal) sources such as arXiv. Right now only a few Indian institutions (such as Matscience in Chennai) support arXiv with an annual grant. Best wishes. Arun
