New book release: 'The Mandovi and Zuari Estuaries'
Dear Colleagues, The Mandovi and Zuari estuaries are coastal-plain, monsoonal estuaries typical of the Indian west coast. The main campus of National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) Goa, India is located on a promontory between the mouths of these two estuaries. This proximity attracted the scientific community to these estuaries, and the availability of funding to study them owing to their being the "lifelines of Goa" has led to their becoming, almost certainly, the best studied estuaries of India. A monograph titled 'The Mandovi and Zuari Estuaries' puts together what is known about these estuaries. The summary has been written in a manner that would appeal to both professionals and amateurs, especially environmental managers and those with special concerns for the environment. An electronic version of the monograph is available on NIO's website (http://www.nio.org) and print copies could be sent for free of cost until they last. Please mail your requests.
