DEAR FRIENDS we have 29 states in India. at same time we have 25 state library associations. Can we form a Federation of State Library Associations. May be we can form a pressure group to seek the following - Compulsory appointment of librarians in all educational Institutes ( as made mandatory by AICTE) -- Seeking for more funds and strengthening of public libraries in the country -- Re look at the present public library acts? -- Consolidation of experts and organizing the training programs at minimal charges at different locations. -- seeking funds from RRRLF for State Associations to run the programs for development of skills of library staff. --turn to be a pressure group to fill in the posts at library schools -- trying to implement in right spirit the acts in each State. and many more the above are only indicative and can be discussed by wider group of professionals and make it more specific. This Federation should work in cooperation with ILA, IASLIC , IATLIS PL SEND UR VALUABLE IDEAS, AND WHETHER THIS FEDERATION IS NECESSARY OR NOT.
