Date: Wed, 7 Jul 2004 08:49:37 +0530 From: Jai Haravu Dear List members Some time back I has reported the development of NewGenLib, (http://www newgenlib.com) a web-based library automation and networking software developed as an initiative of the Kesavan Inst. of Information and Knowledge Management (KIIKM) in partnership with a software company in Hyderabad, Verus Solutions Pvt. Ltd. I am happy to let you know that NewGenLib has now been ported to run under Linux and also under an open source RDBMS, viz., Firebird. This RDBMS works well both under the Windows and Linux OS. This version has been tested on stand alones and on a LAN/Intranet and is well suited to small-to-medium libraries. We hope to test this version also on a web server and I will keep you informed of this. Best regards.
