The Special Libraries Association (SLA) - Asian Chapter in association with the Korea Special Library Association (KSLA), Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI), and National Assembly Library (NAL) cordially invites you to the 4th International Conference of Asian Special Libraries (ICoASL 2015) on Strategies to Create the New Value of Libraries in the Digital Era to be held at the National Assembly Library, Seoul, Korea on 22-24 April 2015.
*OBJECTIVES*
The objective of the ICoASL 2015 is to provide a platform for exchange of knowledge and skills relevant to Information Professionals in Asia with a global perspective. These endeavors will contribute to establish our global identity much firmer than ever for the sustainable library future.
*CALL FOR PAPERS*
The conference invites papers on the above theme and topics from the professional librarians around the world. Papers should be submitted before November 30, 2014 at the email: icoasl2015@gmail.com
*TOPICS (THEMES)*
The following topics, but not limited to, are strongly encouraged.
*What would be the best contents strategy to enhance a competitiveness of libraries in the digital era?*
Related topics: digital contents, research data, big data, information organization, collection management, contents preservation, digital curation, archiving, open access, linked open data, repositories, disclosure of information, information commons, intellectual property, etc.
*How can we increase the value of library services?*
Related topics: customer satisfaction, user-friendliness, research assist, personalized service,customized service, service evaluation, public relations and marketing, service design, communication,social media, digital library solutions, etc
*How can we secure competencies beyond the profession?*
Related topics: new functions of the libraries, new roles of the librarians, continuing education, subject specialist, data librarian, user training, information literacy, social status of librarians, the future of the profession, library related legislations; etc.
