Dear Professionals, Let us congratulate new office bearers of Karnataka State Library Association IKALA). I am sure under the dynamic leadership of new President Dr. P.Y. Rajendrakumar and active person like Mr. Govinda Reddy as it General Secretary, KALA will reach new hights marked with full of professional activities. Dr. PYR has a very rich experience as Director of DPL of Karnataka, DG of National Library, Present president of MILAN, present VP of Jain Associaion and also as earlier president of KALA. both at state and national level. He has good drive and top level contacts both political and professional. With this background supported by strong team, I am sure he would be in a position to take up the cause of LIS both at state and national level. Few Associations like KLA, and MyLISA are doing very well. WE need to excel them. KALA is the brain child of Dr. SRR. The previous committee under the leadership Prof. V.G. Talawar has done quite a bit, especially in reviewing the registration of KALA with the help of Mr. Govinda Reddy and upto date financial status with the efforts of Mr. Shiram Gowda, then Treasure of KALA. We need to find a permanent of place of its own, apart from strickltly conducting quality professional activiies. By law, KALA has been the watchdog for activities of DPL of Karnataka. Presence of Dr. Satish Hosmani, present Director of DPL as VP of KALA will strengthen the hands of President and office bearers to be partner of DPL in its activities and gain help of Govt of Karnataka for KALA.
