Live Koha at NIT Rourkela/Contact for assistance to implement
Dear All, Its my pleasure to inform you that the Koha launched during our recent Workshop on “Library Automation (Koha), Content Management System (Joomla) & Data Migration: Challenges & Prospects” is now online and can be accessed over internet. We have started initially to catalog all our e-books, but will use for other purpose also in future. Koha at NIT Rourkela: http://opac.nitrkl.ac.in/ Many renowned institutes are subscribing/purchasing e-books but few are not maintaining catalog, therefore koha is the best one to manage and easy to catalog for better usages statistics of those costly resources. Please feel free to contact if you are willing to implement koha for such purpose because its simply a matter of one simple PC and we can do the things remotely. Thanking You. Dear Mr. Mishra ji, It is great to see that you have migrated ebooks MARC records to Koha, NISER Bhubaneshwar also has done the same by uploading the .mrc file from publisher directly uploading to Koha via Tools Module. I have small doubt, currently NIT Rourkela is using LibSys. You have not tried to migrate to Koha at NIT Rourekela? This will help forum community members the challenges and issues faced in migration. Please share your thoughts. Dear Sir, Thank You for your response, migrating Libsys data to Koha is no issue for me and i have already done this so if anybody interested to know how to do that may contact us. There is some administrative and RFID related issues which we are using extensively and we want complete freedom so trying to discover some advance solutions. I think data migration is no issue for us from any existing software like SOUL, LIBSYS, Alice, Newgenlib etc. and we can do the job in more professional way with accuracy so anybody wish to migrate may contact as we have already posted over the forum but making ourself completely independent is major challenge for us. We are trying our best to explore more in Koha and sharing all to the community. I repeat our intention is not to criticize/discard any software but to give flexibility to those who wish to migrate. Thanking You. On Mon, 12 May 2014 18:02:29 +0530 wrote
