Sir/Madam, I acknowledge your budding effort, but have doubt in many direction. I have the every reason of that... I wrote about this issue many times trhough different online forum/groups and you know I am now tired enough to write again.. Firstly let me be practical, we are subscribing to a group/forum keeping its objectives in mind. But after some days what we receives? nothing special than cross posting, duplication of post, receiving irrelevant massage... By forming different groups/forum and not sticking with our aims and objectives we are exploiting our subscriber time, and nothing else.. Let me rise question about the LIS Forum itself. I am a subscriber of this forum from 2004. Previously it was ok. But now what we receives.. cross posting.. irrelevant massage.. and nothing.. rather my recent RSS subscription are keeping me abreast with the LIS and hopes to be more usefull than this forum.. But i have a relation with it, since I was a student.. Now is it not the time to redefine the aims and objectives of the "LIS Forum" itself? It post anything? Jobs.. Seminars.. topics for discussion. But do you have an idea.. our valuable time are just going to the garbage.. Why? Simple. I am already employed and don't need any job posting.. so why i will receives jobs posting again and again.. Someone is unemployed and don't need upcoming seminars or workshop posting, and don't like to attend also .. But we are giving them it free.. Not just to waste their time? Stop about it... Even some new members posting repeatedly some sites.. and the moderators are approving it.. Even though we know about that site since a long time.. Go to IASLIC group for example. We are subscribing to it, to receives updates related to IASLIC. But what we receives? We all know... I am bored actually and tired too.. There are different forum/groups related to LIS over the web, go to any one, you will practically find nothing than exploitation of the subscriber time by way of cross posting of massage, directing and posting irrelevant message. As an administrator of some site (forum/group) we are exploiting our members.. But if you really come to be a unique, with really specific aim and objectives I welcomes you.. Otherwise please don't waste our time... I am bored.. I am tired.. Thanking you Yours faithfully (Sri Badan Barman) Academic Consultant, Library & Information Science, Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
