The college is offering 13 UG courses, 7 PG courses and 1 M.Phil programme in regular stream and 5 UG courses, 8 PG courses and 12 M.Phil programmes in Self-finance stream. The College offers Ph.D programmes in English, Chemistry, Botany, Commerce, Physics, Mathematics, Zoology, Microbiology, Computer Science and Business Administration. It also functions in the evenings by offering 6 certificate courses, 5 Diploma Courses, 5 Advanced Diploma Courses and 1 PG Diploma Course. The institution also offers UGC Sponsored B.Voc. (Course on Environmental Assessment and Remediation). The UGC granted autonomous status to the college in 2012. Our College was re-accredited with the Top grade in October 2013 as 'A' Grade in the third cycle of accreditation with 3.17 CGPA by NAAC and in the year2014, the college is recognised as a DST-FIST Sponsored College. About the Library The total area of the library is 13406 sq ft. with the seating capacity of 200. The library has a good collection of 102072 books, 161 periodicals, 6100 back volumes, 2250 donation books, 3587 book bank scheme books. In addition to that, the library has Thesis collection, Question Banks and educational CDs. It is fully computerized with barcoding facilities and has Library Management Software. The library has got the membership of DELNET, American Information Resource Centre and Inflibnet which covers more than 5000 on-line journals. The Library has a separate back volume section for the reference need of research communities. OPAC is made available in 10 systems for locating the books. One server with storage capacity of 8 GB RAM and is available for e-resource management system with GSDL. Specialized services adapted in the library are Earn While You Learn Scheme, Best Library User Award, Students Service Centre, Library Club and Readers Club. About Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Science (SALIS) SALIS is a registered national professional body, actively involved in the development of all spheres of Library and Information Science by organizing various programmes like conferences, seminars, workshops and training programmes on emerging topics throughout the year in various parts of the country through its chapters located in many places. SALIS publishes national and international journals, proceedings and newsletters for exchange of information and knowledge among LIS professionals. SALIS instituted many awards to encourage and motivate LIS professionals. One of the objectives of SALIS is to train the LIS professionals in the country to handle the latest IT tools and techniques more effectively and efficiently and also to understand and adopt the best practices in order to provide high quality library service to the users.
