Dear Professionals On the Occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. S R Ranganthan, Karnataka State Library Association in collaboration with Sri Khsetra Dharmasthala Education Trust , Department of Libraries, Karnataka and Dhakshina Kannada and Kodagu Library Association is organizing National conference on “Social Responsibilities of Libraries and Librarians in the Internet society: Challenges and Issues”. The conference is organized on the primary concern of Dr. S R Ranganathan i.e., Social Responsibility of libraries and Librarians. The Information, Communication & Technology (ICT) has become user‐friendly tool for easy delivery of information, at the point of needs, due to its ubiquitous accessibility. Due to mobile technology and hand‐held device the remote access to information is becoming very common, even at the remotest village. Tools for social networking are also increasing day by day. It is the libraries and librarians to use these tools and technologies to create effective role of libraries in today's society. Considering these challenges and issues, KALA has organized this National Conference.
