INTRODUCTION SNDT Women’s University Library , established in 1965 has been actively engaged in conducting various continuing education programmes and workshops for the working librarians. This year, we have planned to focus our activities on promotion of reading for the students. Role of College Librarians as motivators to read is well recognized for a long time. This workshop for college librarians will focus on reading, its implications for the college students for personality development and reading promotion activities undertaken by social workers, psychologists and librarians today. It will provide a platform for the discussion on various aspects of reading therapy, developmental as well as correctional and will also facilitate to plan reading promotion programmes and projects suitable for students from different social and cultural settings.
