(Engg) from Delhi College of Engineering. He began his career at M.B.M. Engineering College, Jodhpur as Assistant Professor in Dept. of ECE in 1984. Subsequently, he was an Associate Professor, Professor and Head of Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at Malaviya Regional Engine ering College, Jaipur and Dean (Academic) at Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur. He was also the Principal Coordinator of QIP (Poly) programme of AICTE (2005), Chairman of NIMCET, an all India MCA entrance test (2008), Chairman of Central C ounselling Board (CCB-2011) and Chairman, Direct Admission of Students from Abroad (DASA 2010-12) scheme of MHRD, Govt. of India. He has more than 29 years of teaching, research and administrative experience. Prior to joining as President, Manipal University Jaipur, he was serving as a Director, National Institute of Technology, Delhi. Previously he was also the Director, NITK Surathkal and Director Incharge of NIT Tiruchirapalli, NIT Calicut, School of Planni ng & Architecture (SPA) and Mentor Director of NIT Goa, NIT Puducherry and NIT Sikkim. His Major area of research interest is High Frequency Electronics, R.F. Circuits and Systems, Microwave Antennas and Semi-conductor Device Modeling. He has to his credit more than 75 research papers in national / international journals and conferences. He has organized several national and international conferences and workshops as Chair and also delivered invited talks and key note addresses in many conferences, seminars and workshops. He is a recipient of Commonwealth Scholarship & Fellowship under Colombo Plan from 1992-1995. He has also been awarded SERC Fellowship from DST, Government of India in 1998 and UKISTRF award from British Council in 1999-2000. He was on Faculty Secondment of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Bangkok for a semester in 2005. He has undertaken several sponsored research activities, projects and consultancy from many reputed organizations from time to time. He is a Life Fellow of Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (FIETE), Life Member of ISTE (LMISTE), Life Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) (FIE), Life Fellow of Broadcast Engineering Society (LFBES) and Member of Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (MIEEE), USA. He has served in the capacities of Honorary Secretary and Chairman, IETE, Rajasthan Centre and is currently serving as Vice-President IEEE MTT India Chapter. He was a founder member of Indo-US Collaboration on Engineering Education (IUCEE), Member of Academic Advisory Board of Microsoft (India), Member of GOI Committee on Upgradation of Govt. Engineering Colleges, Member of MHRD Working Group on Technical Educ ation for 12th Five Year Plan and Member of the National Steering Committee of the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme-II. He was also Chairman, MHRD Review Committee of Status of Physical Education Personnel of NITs, Member of NIT Council S tanding Committee, Member of NITs Review Committee, Member Review Committee for Polytechnics, Member (Visitor�s nominee) Distance Education Council (DEC), Member JEE Apex Board 2013 (JAB) and Member Secretary of the Committee for Normalization of Board Ma rks for inclusion in JEE-Main. He was a member of Govt. of India Science and Technology delegations to Republic of Ireland and USA.
