Friends, Open access and open science still have a long way to be fully accepted and practised in India, although we have been talking about OA and writing papers on the subject for many years. In a long conversation I had with Mr Richard Poynder in 2014 (see 'Open Access in India: Q&A with Subbiah Arunachalam,' dated June 09, 2014), I said "Citizens in India should form a Taxpayers Alliance for Open Access, and university students should form a nationwide 'Students for Open Access' forum." These haven't happened so far. Maybe these tasks could be taken up now.
