We are delighted to inform you that, as part of the Karnataka Public Libraries Leadership Enhancement Programme, Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, Bangalore organized a fully paid one week study tour to Germany from June 10 - June 16, 2019. An eight-member delegation of Department of Public Libraries Karnataka, led by Shri S.R. Umashankar, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government of Karnataka and comprising Deputy Directors of City Central Libraries from different parts of the State visited different Libraries in Germany. Dear Sheshagiri, Greetings!! Wonderful to know the initiative taken by your esteemed organization Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, Bangalore. This will be a great support for our public library system in India to make a further impact by virtue of their services to the community and society as a whole. The dignitaries who have visited Germany to understand the Public Library System and to implement some of the best practices here will definitely make a way forward in improving our system further for the benefit of our society. This type of programs should also be given to working librarians in Public Libraries because these are the people who understand the nitigrities in implementing any new services in Public Libraries. We all know Public Libraries are people's universities where a lot of knowledge imparted to one and all, improving the PLS is one of the noble cause and will improve our society and humanity.
