NES and its affiliates together comprise one of the foremost
database access, production and publishing companies in the
world. NESs 100+ database products, published online (BiblioLine)
or on CD-ROM (NISC DISCover) and print, cover most areas of the
universe of knowledgearts & humanities, earth sciences,
environment, social sciences, life sciences and technology. These
databases are used in academic research settings to serve as
literature search tools in the above fields.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will
lead a small group of young and dynamic Library and Information
Science professionals and software engineers engaged in various
activities pertaining to database production such as content
development, data checking, data feeding and product preparation.
The incumbent of this senior level position would also interact and
coordinate with software engineers in other Departments of NES to
ensure timely updating of various database products at regular
intervals. Based in Hyderabad, the job offers challenging and
rewarding opportunities to work at the cutting-edge of information
and communication technologies.
NES is looking for candidates who have a <bold>Ph.D. degree in Library
and Information Science </bold>or any related subject. It also considers
applications from candidates who had submitted their doctoral
theses and awaiting announcement of results.
Good typing skills are required as the working environment involves
online computer use for access to offices worldwide.
In addition, the candidates should possess the ability
--to manage the preparation and clean-up of data which is
processed into various database products.

with excellent command of written and spoken English.
--to maintain good interpersonal relationships and foster team spirit
among diverse work groups to ensure smooth work flow.
--to motivate a work force comprising of wide variety of staff such as
content indexers, content developers, content operators, data
capture engineers, data designers, remotebase operators, data
prep engineers and online service engineers.
--to handle a wide variety of modern communication media in a
professional manner, conforming to standards of international
business communication with respect to etiquette and pronunciation.
--to maintain good public relations with all publicsboth internal and
external.
--to handle interpersonal conflicts in a professional manner.
