The University has 36 departments under four constituent colleges. The university has more than 193 affiliated colleges with an enrollment of about 2.25 lakh students. As a mark of respect in the memory of late Sri Mohanlal Sukhadia the architect of modern Rajasthan, the university was renamed as Mohanlal Sukhadia University in 1984. *About the DLIS* The Department of Library and Information Science was started in the year 1975 as a separate department in the University College of Social Science & Humanities. In the year 1994 the department was upgraded to a PG department as Master in LIS course was started as a regular one year programme. Subsequently in the session 1999, the facilities of Ph.D programme were initiated and considered as second full-fledges department having facility of UG, PG & Ph.D in the Rajasthan State.
