What started as a common library in 1995 has, as on date, built up a vast collection of information dockets comprising of 23,500 reference books, 150 Journals/ Magazines, 35 National Newspapers, and various CD-ROMs. Added to this are the networked resources of DELNET, thus enabling students and users to access to the networked resources of the DELNET as well as to the internationally acclaimed online database services. Connecting to this vast reservoir of Data and information resources flowing through our Fiber and Wi-Fi 24x7 DEMPI Data Network, every student laptop and the academia, make our campus one of the highest organized modern learning system in Delhi. Currently in order to shear our experience and further buildup on our effort, our knowledge and Learning Resource Centre (Central Library) has taken the initiative to organize and national convention on developing a "Roadmap for Modernization of Library and information Centers in the Emerging Knowledge Era" on 19th � 20th March, 2007 at New Delhi under the guidance of the Indian Library Association of India President Dr. Muttayya Koganuramath, who is also the University Librarian, Central Library , Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has agreed to be the Patron of the EMPI Digital Library National Convention -2007. A Comprehensive brochure with the objection, theme, sub -themes and other details is enclosed for ready reference along with the registration form. Further to reach globally we have hosted a domain http://www.empidlnc.orgwith 2GB reserve space. This website will delicately disseminate all the conventional information to scholars and others. The prime objectives of launching the website are 1. To share and contribute the best expertise knowledge about implementing, governing and regulating digital library processes and practices, and make a platform to announce various EMPI training and educational activities on future Knowledge & Learning Resource Centres. 2. To provide students, faculty and other practitioners a knowledge base to download and share presentations (PPT), abstracts, and extended abstracts of the papers presented in various conventions and fulfilling the objective of serving with conviction. Your participation in the EMPI Digital Library National Convention-2007 and sharing of experience will, more than providing a platform for building of mutual synergies, help in development the preferred roadmap to guide the Indian information Centers (Libraries) to support the efforts of all our countrymen to make India a top class Knowledge society.
