Dear Colleague,
We are glad to inform you that the Central Government Library Association,
Kolkata Branch will organise the International Conference in collaboration
with Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata at R N Mookerjee
Auditorium of Institution of Engineers (India), on 9 & 10 February, 2018.
It is indeed a great pleasure for us to organise this memorable
International level professional event in Kolkata and invite you to
participate in the conference and make it a grand success.
Kolkata
 Kolkata is the capital of West Bengal and cultural capital in Eastern
India. Besides being an educational hub for Eastern India, Kolkata is the
place of the largest library in Asia, National Library and many renowned
libraries like Asiatic Society Library, Indian Museum Library, Geological
Survey of India libraries, Botanical Survey of India libraries etc.
Kolkata is a âCity of Joyâ and has several tourist attractions like
Indian Museum, Victoria Memorial Hall, Science City, and Kalighat and
Dakshnishwar Temple etc.
Institution of Engineers (India)
The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is a statutory body to promote
and advance the engineering and technology, established in 1920 and
incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935. It is the largest
multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers encompassing 15
(fifteen) engineering disciplines with a membership strength of above 0.8
million and serving the nation for more than 9 decades. The IEI has its
headquarters located in Kolkata with national presence through more than
hundred Twenty Centres and several Overseas Chapters, Foras and Organ.
Central Govt. Library Association (CGLA)
Central Government Library Association (CGLA) is a registered body under
Society Registration Act, 1961. CGLA was established in the year 2004 with
the basic aims of providing a platform to the Central Govt. Librarians and
other librarians to share professional activities in this field. Central
Government Library Association is has headquartered in Dehradun with
branches in New Delhi, Kolkata and Nagpur. Kolkata Branch is looking after
Eastern and North-Eastern regions of the country.
Objectives
The theme âRecent Trends, Challenges and Opportunities of Government and
Public Libraries in Indiaâ aims to discuss burning issues with regard
to professional and technical aspects of library professionals working in
Central Government sector and formulate some recommendations to be placed
before the Government of India for betterment of Library profession in
India. The Conference will be a platform for mutual sharing of knowledge
and ideas among the librarians, policy makers, library stakeholders,
students, teachers and others.

can send their papers on any of the subthemes given besides any topic of
their interest relevant to the themes and sub-themes. Original papers on
the areas of interest are invited.

Submission of Abstracts:Â 15 December 2017
Submission of Full text Paper:Â 15 January 2018
Confirmation of Acceptance:Â 20 January 2018
Last Date of Registration: 31 January 2018
Full paper may be submitted with an abstract in approximately 3000 words,
keywords and references on A4 size paper with margin 1.25 cm on all side
in MS Word format in 12 points New Times Roman type single line
spacing.The paper should not exceed 3(three)pages. Bibliographic
references should be given at the end of the article under the heading
Reference in APA style. Papers should be electronically submitted at email
id :cglaconference@gmail.com.
