Dear Professional Friend,
I fully agree with Mr. Vijesh, P. V. and Mr. Anand Dodamani. In my
personal opinion, I think this is the time we have to think the following:
1. The Associations of Library field should come forward to protest or to
place some sort of complaint for this type of discriminant outlook to
Library Professionals.
2. The Universities and Schools with Library and Information Science as a
course should be much careful to choose candidates(Students) at time of
selecting for their course. For I have seen there are quite a bigger
number of Universities and Schools (Particularly some Private or Semi aided
or Deemed to be) are giving Library and Information Science degrees without
thinking about the professionalism and the future of the students. They
should teach the modern library management system and current trend of
library services.
3. As the universities are not having any future plan for professionalism
of the Library and Information Science Course, students passing from
universities and schools are trying to accept any kind of job and they are
not thinking about the pay scale. The reason is that they have to start a
job with their professional qualification. Thus the degradation in the
profession is continuing. It is also happening in most of the
professional fields in our Country.
4. If we are thinking about Walk - In - Interview. We should not mind
over it because now-a-days this is becoming a trend. Candidate with degree
of M. Tech, B. Tech., MD, MBBS, MBA are also have to face this type of
interviews
5. I am not against females. However, it has been found that in our
country most of the Library and Information Science professionals are
female. They must have career thinking, but it may be possible that they
are cool with this profession without thinking much about their career
growth. Please note that here I am not telling about the Teaching
professionals in the Library and Information Science field.
