As an interdisciplinary subject, data science draws scientific inquiry from a broad range of subjects , for instance, computer science. data mining, mathematics and statistics. Not only, data sciences has heavily influenced economics, business and finance, but it has also impacted academic and applied research in many domains, including biological sciences, machine translation, robotics, social sciences and humanities. There are various tools, technologies and standard methodologies already out there for developing analytical models, which are the core part of data science. The main objective of this seminar is to provide a brief introduction on Data Science, its scope, importance and work flows. We will discuss two well known methodologies, such as, CRISP-DM and SMAM for analytical modelling.
