Dear Librarians, We find several request for articles from Journals are mailed to th LIS-Forum. I understand that many librarians are aware of NUCSSI available for Online search via Web. However for your information; you refer to National Union Catalogue of Scientific Serials (NUCSSI) brought out by NISCAIR is also available for Online search. Its URL is: http://nucssi.niscair.res.in/Search.aspx You can search by Journal, City and Library. It gives the holdings List of the each library for the title/s you searched. You can send an email to the nearest library for the required article. Sometimes the library may not have email facility under the circumstances you can write to the Library to get the article/s I am giving here an example from the recent mail sent to LIS-Forum from the Librarian of the Gandhi Gram Institute. I find a request made by Gandhi Gram Institute for an Article appeared in South Asian Studies, Vol. 13, No. 1, 1997, which is available in two Libraries. 1. Archeological Survey of India, Delhi from Vol, 1, 1986 onwards 2. Deccan College Postgraduate and Research Institute, Pune. from V1-V13, 1985-97 only Volumes 8 and 10 are missing. NUCSSI has mostly Scientific Serials but sometimes you will find some interdisciplinary subjects too like the above example of South Asian Studies.
