This question is usually raised in the month of Aug, every year. I did a search on the archived messages of LIS-Forum and came across the following post, which answers the above question. http://ncsi.iisc.ernet.in/pipermail/lis-forum/2010-September/011160.html So, it is always a good idea to search the LIS-Forum archive, http://ncsi.iisc.ernet.in/pipermail/lis-forum/search.html, before posing a question. - Francis NCSI, IISc Bangalore -12
Dear Sreerasmi, You are right. Dr S R R was born on August 9th but in school records it was entered as August 12 and therefore we have been celebrating the birthday on August12 th. Best regards, D.B.Eswara Reddy On Sat, Aug 6, 2011 at 12:53 AM, Sreerasmi K B <kbsr.86@gmail.com> wrote:

In case the actual date of birth differs from school record, usually family celebrates on actual date, others follow the date in records. It does not matter 9th or 12th August, it is good thing that we celebrate in befitting way. Since last year KALA, IALA and DPL have been doing it in a good way. Dr. I.R.N.
