Dear Sir/Madam, Thanks for your personal view, but my view is you are giving relaxation to various corrupt peoples. Please go through the types of corruption, you will find that whatever you are talking about is also comes under the corruption. Kindly go through the IFLA manifesto on corruption.(http://www.ifla.org/en/node/5324) Any association exist if the country exist so corruption is not related to any specific profession or people it exist every where, presently our country is suffering from this disease very badly we should join our hands against corruption and try to clean it from every where so if Librarians can do something good in this area it will be good for our profession and country. Dear forum members,
Primary objective of any association is to serve for developing and promoting the profession. Before making any objective for removing corruption, do we have any incidences of our associaitons being abused/charged for corruption? Second, some bias or personal liking is common phenomemnon in any association and it is not related to any corruption. The office bearers os association may like members of similar thinking as successors or some members may like the position for their visibility and contribution. This cannot be considered as corruption. Third, the associations need to have some linkages with politicians/Govt. authortities for fighting for justice to profession. In this process, some expenditure might occur to speed up the process and the members might have to contribute for the cause. This we cannot consider as corruption. Finally, corruption is purely personal, unless the person removes it from his/her heart, the association cannot do anything. Now all the association members should raise their voices against corruption like peoples of Egypt, if they want any good revolution for the sake of their profession/human development/Country.
