About the PROGRAM
Library of yester years bring a picture of a shy, subdued librarian quietly
shelving away books and attending the counters. Today’s librarian is often
someone who is cross mingling with different internal/external
stakeholders, is engaged in new opportunities and collaborations to prove
their value in a constantly threatening & competitive environment of
e-resources, open –accesses, and google!
Planning in line with the organizational missions, thinking strategically
to provide useful offerings, engaging with senior management, and
communicating effectively at workplace, requires good professional skills
and leadership qualities. SLA believes that good communicators and leaders
are not only born, they can also be made.
Image of a librarian can speak volumes, and grooming this image has to be
taken seriously.
Special Library Association, Asian Chapter in collaboration with NMIMS,
Mumbai, is organizing a one day program on “Achieving Professional
Excellence”.
Let us meet such impacting professional colleagues who have showed their
competitive mettle to mark a success at their work places, which make them
indispensable in their institutes. Their experiences will provide insights
into new approaches of information service delivery. Later part of the
programme is designed to pump in lot of positivism and image building,
through a captivating video screening and a talk by a leading management
guru.
You will also get to interact with the abstracting and book vendor ‘Kwench’
and know about a few interestinglibrary automation products.
