Dear Professionals, It is very good news to all that Dr. D. Shivalingaiah, Professor of Department of Library and Information Science, Mangalore University has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru. He is the second Vice-Chancellor from our LIS profession. It is really overwhelming that Prof. V.G. Talawar and Prof D. Shivaligaiah were served at Mangalore University and fortunately both of them have taught me during my BLISc at Mangalore University. Dr. D. Shivalingaiah did his PhD under the able guidance of Prof. V.G. Talawar, Vice-Chancellor of Reva University, Banagaluru and former Vice-Chancellor of University of Mysore (Fortunately I also did my research under Dr.V.G.Talawar). He is a sincere, honest, hardworking and dedicated academician and able administrator. I am sure that under his able leadership, the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) will raise to greater heights in imparting quality education and research to the needy.
