From the eighty five people present, dignitaries such as Ms. Kamaliniben Bhansali (Ex- Vice Chancellor), Dr. Ms. Jyotiben Trivedi (Ex- Vice Cancellor ), Prof. Harsha Parekh (Ex- University Librarian SNDT Women�s Univ.), Dr. S. R. Ganpule (Ex- Univerity Librarian, Univ. of Mumbai) shared their memories of the golden times with Prof. Khandwala. On behalf of the past students Dr. Maya Avasia (Asiatic Society of Mumbai) paid her respect to Prof Khandwala and spoke about how Ms. Khandwala encouraged her students to go ahead and contribute to the field. Dr Perin Marolia (SHPT School of Library Science) remembered her for her unique quality i.e. her Memory and Creativity. �She was the only Head who knew each & every student. She could spot the weakness of the individual stundents and help them to overcome it,� said Ms. Parvati V. (American Information Resource Center). Ms. Parvati V. also highlighted Prof. Khandwala�s achievements. Mrs. Sushama Powdwal read out the message of the present Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rupa Shah.
A display of Photographs of Prof. Khandwala with various dignitaries in the library was organized. A poem was written by Ms. Sunanda Mahajan describing Prof. Khandwala�s personality was put up. Keeping in mind the dream and vision of Prof. Khandwala, SHPT School of Library Science past students Association started �Prof Vidyut Khandwala Fund� for giving Scholarship/ Internship for the needy and worthy students. Rs. 30,000/- was collected on the spot. Contribution to this fund is still pouring in from India & abroad. We hope a substantial corpus will be developed. We welcome contributions for this fund.
