Science Gallery, Bengaluru, is taking exhibits to rural libraries
Friends, Here is an opportunity to be part of an innovative and socially relevant library project. Science Gallery Bengaluru is seeking donations from our supporters and members of the public over the next three days to achieve their fundraising goal to reach across rural and peri-urban libraries in the state. They are partnering with the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RDPR), Government of Karnataka, to bring our exhibition-based learning resources to public libraries. Their pilot program saw a successful participation of 180 members from all 31 districts in Karnataka. They will take three exhibition-based learning resources in Kannada and English to libraries across the state: (1) an Exhibition-in-a-Box, (2) Activity Handbook and online (3) Open-courseware. The workshops will also be held in Kannada and English to prepare staff from public libraries to use these tools for informal learning of science.
