College Post Bangalore 560059 Seminar on Knowledge Management: Tools, Methods and Technologies Some argue that Knowledge management deals with creating, identifying, codifying and sharing knowledge that is valuable to the organization. However knowledge management is essentially about tacit knowledge. It is aimed at making tacit knowledge explicit and then sharing that knowledge for use, across an organization. There are different tools for Knowledge management. The primary focus, however, is on knowledge sharing and collaboration tools. The tools for knowledge management can be conveniently grouped into two categories: (i) Information technologies/ tools and (ii) Web based (IT) tools. In coming years it will present a set of new tools for managing knowledge by providing an extremely rich common language for representing knowledge. Some of the web-based and web-enabled software tools will be discussed.
