Dear Professional Friends *Result of UGC NET/JRF held on 26th Dec 2010 has been declared. ***http://www.ugcnetonline.in/ ** It is learned that the number of LIS Professionals who have qualified the UGC NET & JRF Exams are very less, only 06 out of about 13,000 appeared!!! It was also heard that only one candidate qualified from the state of Kerala !!! The statistics shows that 06 (out of 9689) are cleared NET and NOBODY has qualified for the JRF (out of 3238). Even though the situation of other subjects are not known now, discuss and introspect the bad results of LIS and the role of LIS Schools ( in this 100th years of LIS Education in our country!) It is interesting note that, last year 06 Students from the DLIS, University of Kerala have qualified NET & JRF. Use the medium of various Discussion Forums to introspect. Regards *Dr. K. G.
