Rangappa, Vice Chancellor, University of Mysore, Mysore, while speaking on the 12th Annual Day Celebrations of MyLISA. Speaking from experience of his recent visit to Moscow, Prof. Rangappa said that the libraries in Moscow are unique in their aesthetic appeal of the building and quality of library service they provide. He called upon the staff of the Mysore University library to visit Mosow to bring those technologies to the University. Prior to the Annual Day function, MyLISA has organized a daylong seminar on the topic ‘Publish or Perish’. Expressing his happiness over the theme of the Seminar, he said academicians and researchers have to publish quality research papers in international journals. He called upon the organizers to conduct Seminars, Conferences and Symposiums inviting scholars from within the Country and abroad. The Vice Chancellor also assured that University of Mysore will extend its helping hand in organizing such academic activities and he also noted that there is no dearth for facilities at the University for academic events. He released the ‘MyLISA News’ and stressed the need for more academic by way of publications and conferences . On her presidential address on the occasion, Prof Shalini R. Urs, Founder President of MyLISA, called upon academicians and researchers should adopt “Publish and Prosper” approach taking a leaf out of Prof. Ragappa’s book. Challenge for survival is faced by all profession. The only solution to sustenance is ‘change for better’. She opined that even Google is facing the challenge for its survival from Facebook. Retired librarians Sri H.Y. Mahakoteshwara from CFTRI, Sri Siddalingaswamy from JSS College, Smt. Ambica Devi from Department of Archeology, Smt. Savithri G from SJCE College, Smt. Uma Devi from JSS Women’s College, were felicitated by the Chief Guest Prof. K.S. Rangappa on the occasion. MyLISA’s President Sri S. Nagaraja welcomed the gathering, Vice President Dr. C.P.
