Dear All, I am pleased to inform you that Prof. PSG Kumar, Former Head, Department of Library and Information Science, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur received the prestigious, "IATLIS-Prof. Jagindar Singh Ramdev Lifetime Achievement Award-2012" at the Inaugural Session of the XXIX IATLIS National Conference on the theme, "Contemplating Persistent and Debatable issues of Library and Information Science (LIS) Education and Research" held at Documentation Research and Training Centre (DRTC), Bangalore from 20 March 2013. Prof. NSN. Shastri conferred this Award on Prof. PSG Kumar. Besides Prof. PSG Kumar, others seen in the picture (from left to right) are: Dr. Baljinder Kaur, Dr. Navkiran Kaur, Prof. ARD Prasad, Prof. Jagtar Singh, Dr. HPS Kalra, Prof. IV Malhan, Prof. NSN Shastri, and Prof. Trishanjit Kaur. Prof. Jagindar Singh Ramdev an NRI and a great philanthropist from Chicago (USA) donated Rs. 1, 00, 000/= to the Indian Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (IATLIS) to institute this Award. Prof. PSG Kumar is the first library doyen to receive this prestigious Award. Prof. SM Shafi, Department of Library and Information Science, University of Kashmir, Srinagar recieved the "IATLIS-Motiwale Best LIS Teacher Award-2012" at this occasion.
