Dear all Many times during international conferences people from abroad is invited as speaker/resource person etc. But do you really know their contribution and innovation in the job? Except understanding that they are having some different skin than Indians? Try to make webometrics study between these invited persons and organisers, in many cases you will find some mutual relationship between them either directly or indirectly. Most of the cases they are doing and managing the same what was passed by their ancestors like us in profession. I don't have much experience on physically visiting abroad but interacting a lot with many professionals abroad online and sharing our knowledge. I feel we have the same potentials as they have but it's a matter of proper utilisations. Dear young library professionals please do some homework before participation in any event and evaluate what knowledge you are going to get at the end of the event else you are just going to become part of crowd. Please note the certificates which you get their by spending huge amount may be available at other similar events at low cost but value will remain same.
