Dear Members NCSI will be organizing the workshop "INDEST-NCSI workshop on Institutional Repositories" in IISc, Bangalore, during 27-29 July 2004. The workshop is aimed at setting up inter-operable e-print archives at core INDEST consortium member institutions http://paniit.iitd.ac.in/indest/) covering Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT's), Indian Institutes of Management (IIM's), and National Institutes of Technology (NIT's - earlier Regional Engineering Colleges), apart from IISc. These institutions together account for significant portion of research output from India. Institutional repositories should help us in improving the visibility and impact of research done in these institutions. This effort is an extension of the initial focus of the INDEST consortium to provide licensed/shared access to a large number of e-journals and databases.
