Dear All, Minutes of NCSI NET talk - meeting held on 8th June 2006, NCSI, IISc: Topic: IP Asset Management Speaker: Mr. Adarsh Nigam. Vice President, Vans Information Limited, Mumbai Total Attendees - 28 (NCSI NET and outsiders) The meeting began with the introduction of the speaker Mr. Adarsh Nigam and he started with his talk. He gave a very good talk on IP and related issues. The presentation was divided into three parts. In the first part the speaker presented on IP, issues, importance etc. Second part was on case studies of GE, Intel, Microsoft and other companies with reference to Patents and IP issues. In the third part the speaker used some tools such as 'Micro Patent's', 'Patweb' and 'Aureka' Databases which is mainly used for Research and Analysis, he also highlighted the importance of Aureka 8.0. The speaker addressed the queries put by audience and showed an analysis of "WIFI Technology". He then demonstrated the search method and the research and analysis of the topic. The speaker explained different membership models and limitations of access to the databases such as Gold, Silver and Bronze membership.
