Dar friends, we are subscribing journals since last 29 years and we have also faced some problems of non receipt of the jornals. We follow, followig procedure to get all issues of all the journals subscribed through various vendors and publshers. 1.We hve identified the right vendors or publishers through them we subscribe the journals. 2.We never aks for quotations or any discount for any journal. 3 We do attached terms and conditions to supply the journals. 4We ask vendors to pay in advance and on submiting the emitance proof we do pay to vendors. 5.We do pay in advance to publishers on performa invoice and well in time. 6.We have desiged our own journals record fomat which contains all the details of publisher and vendors as well payment details. 7.We keep watch that new volumes and its first issue of the each jounals start in time. 8 We have double check system i.e if we recd.new issue and earlier issue is missing we immediately send the reminder .In additon every month we do send partywise /vendorwise reminders . 9.Second and thrid reminders are strong in comparive degree. 10.If needed we talk to suppliers on phone. 11.When we do not recd. the issues from foreign publishers after reapeted remnders we do write to their embassy to help us to get those missing issues. 12.We do check about the missing issues at post office and return letter office too. 13. Finally we get 99.9% all issues. We also recover refund of proportinate amount for not recd. issues. 14. Very important is to develop very friendly official relations with the suppliers to get the better services from them. Hope this will help to some of our professional friends. Dear All, I am following the same procedure. Additionally, I am taking Bank guarantee for 18 months and indemnity bond. But, some agents are very clever. They will pay the payment to the publishers from their end. They submit all the payment proofs. Once they receive the reimbursement, for costly journals they are canceling subscription orders with publishers. When reminded for non-receipt of issues, they are giving many many unnecessary and unwanted excuses. Suggest some method to overcome this problem, if you are aware. Every one should be very careful about this problem. If you need, the agent name will be revealed at a later date.
