Dear Members, CSIR - NISCAIR, New Delhi will be organizing a short-term training programme on "Design and Development of Institutional Repositories using DSpace-Advance". Dates: November 07 - 11, 2016. Venue: CSIR - NISCAIR, 14 Satsang Vihar Marg, Special Institutional Area, New Delhi - 110 067. Course fee: Rs. 4800/- (without accommodation) and Rs. 6900/- (with accommodation). The course fee without accommodation include Course kit, boarding lunch, two times tea. The course fee with accommodation include Course kit, boarding lunch, two times tea and transport facility from guest house to training venue and back. DSpace is an Open Source Digital Repository / Digital Library creation software. DSpace preserves and enables easy and open access to all types of digital content including text, images, moving images, mpegs and data sets. The programme covers topics like: Linux and DSpace Installation;DSpace Customization: Look and Feel; Language; Metadata Input etc.;DSpace Configuration;User Management and Authentication;Migration / Up-gradation from Old Version to New Version;Backup & Restore;Import and Export;Statistical Reports;Metadata Harvesting etc. The training programme will be practical oriented one. Participants will be individually installing Linux and then DSpace followed by hands-on on above mentioned topics. Class Timings: 9.30 AM - 5.30 PM (all five days) Participant certificate will be provided after successful completion of training. Limited seats are available on first-cum-first-serve basis.
