Internet of Things (IoT) involves in extending the Internet connectivity beyond the traditional devices like computers, smartphones and tablets to an ever-growing network of everyday things, and also how to utilise the technology to communicate and interact with the external environment. This seminar intends to identify how Internet of Things influences the lifestyle of social beings. Focus will be given to the underlying architecture of IoT including the various hardware and protocols being employed, aspects such as existing technologies, developments, benefits and challenges pertaining to IoT. Furthermore, it will explore the IoT applications within the libraries and possible future developments.
