Dear Badan, 12 August is celebrated as Librarians day because the official birth date of S R Ranganathan is 12th August. This date is used for all official purposes. The Librarian's Day is declared by S R Ranganathan and naturally they will go for official date only. So Librarian's day is celebrated on 12th August instead of 9th August.
