Dear Professional Friends, I am happy to announce the return of the internationally well-known digital library conference‹ICADL to India after 12 years! The domain of digital libraries is at the intersection of many disciplines and fields, including data management, information retrieval, library sciences, document management, information systems, the web, image processing, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, archiving, and digital curation. Three significant and vibrant international conferences have grown out of this international digital library movement ­ the Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL, http://www.jcdl.org http://www.jcdl.org/ ) in the US, the 2005 European Conference on Digital Libraries (ECDL, http://www.ecdl2005.org http://www.ecdl2005.org/ ), and the International Conference on Asian Digital Libraries (ICADL, http://www.icadl.org http://www.icadl.org/ ). The International Conference on Asia-Pacific Digital Libraries (ICADL), which began in 1998 and has rotated annually among the Asian-Pacific countries, has become one of the premiere meetings in digital libraries.
