Dear Professionals, Please circulate this message to your professional colleagues at the earliest. -------------------------------------------------------------- An walk-in-interview will be conducted on 18th may 2007 (Friday) at 10:30 A.M. at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata for recruitment of three (3) Project Assistants on purely temporary basis for the project titled "Retro-conversion of the Workers' Circulating Library including development of user database" in the Library Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. Qualification: # Essential: MLIS or its equivalent from a recognized Univ./ Inst. Knowledge in computer applications in Library. # Desirable: Experience in data input in Bengali script, knowledge of Libsys and familiarity with Promilnama system and LOC subject Headings list. Tenure & Pay of Appointment: Initially the appointment will be offered for Nine (9) months. It may be extended subject to the satisfactory performance and availability of required fund. Rs 5000/- per month plus HRA. Age should not exceed 35 years as on 01 April 2007 with usual relaxation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ extra ordinary candidates. Candidates appearing for interview are required to bring with them the application addressed to the Director. Indian Statistical Institute along with photocopies of their bio-data and certificates. They should also bring the original copies of certificates for verification of photocopies. Candidates will have to report at the office of the Library Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, 203 B. T. Road, Kolkata 700108 on the day of Interview half an hour before the time mentioned above.
