Reasons for outsourcing varies for each and every organization. Library, being such an organization do outsource few of its services to external agencies. Over the decades, libraries have contracted with outside agencies to perform tasks and functions that are suitable or necessary for library operations. This seminar intends to identify the various library services which are being outsourced. The seminar tries to explore the possibilities of outsourcing core library services such as Cataloguing and Library Management. The focus of the seminar will be upon the extent to which library services can or should be outsourced, pros and cons, and how can outsourcing possibly help in creating a sustainable library environment.
