With regards   About the Conference The advent of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and the shifting information landscape has changed the entire life style of human beings. The libraries are the first to embrace the innovations that are happening around the world. Due to the impact of ICT, modern library collection includes a vast array of information resources some of which it owns, its physical collection, but much of it licensed access to remote electronic collections- either databases, electronic journals, e-books, digital images, institutional repositories, etc. Despite these changes present generation demands new services with every passing day. So the library professionals have to update themselves to cope up with changing needs of the user community. We observe that there is a transitory urge to rise up to these challenges and make use of the opportunities to provide their best services to the user community. This transition is significant because it poses challenges as well as throws up numerous opportunities to institutions and library professionals to innovate and modernize to keep in tune with the changing times. In order to address changing scenario, Besant Evening College, Mangalore  in collaboration with Karnataka State College Librarians’ Association and Dakshina Kannada & Kodagu Library Association is organizing a two dayhas National level Conference focusing on libraries and librarianship in transition. The authors are requested to submit a full paper through an e-mail attachment to libtrans2014@gmail.com before 07th July 2014.
