MCET is a self-financing, co-educational Engineering College and it is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi & affiliated to Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore. The Institute has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi and ISO 9001:2008 certified by TUV. The MCET currently offers 11 UG and 5 PG programs and Doctoral programme in Engineering, Technology and Science. ABOUT THE LIBRARY: The library of MCET is one of the best established libraries and has a large collection of books covering various branches of engineering sciences and technology, science and humanities and its related fields. The Digital Library service unit provides access to computers with internet facility with latest technology equipments and Web OPAC. More than 60,000 Books, 300 journals / magazines of print and 1800+ digital versions, around 4000 CDs/DVDs/VCDs cater the user needs. The library holds membership of various professional societies. ABOUT SALIS: SALIS is a registered professional body and aims to develop of all spheres of library and information science by organizing various programmes such as seminar, lectures, training programs on emerging areas. It has many chapters to provide services in the respective regions. The main objective of SALIS is to ‘Reach the Un-reached’ and also to train the LIS professionals to handle the latest IT tools and techniques more effectively and efficiently in order to provide quality services. SALIS publishes journals, books and newsletter to disseminate latest information to the professionals. OBJECTIVE OF NCILSDE : NCILSDE aims at providing a national platform to LIS professionals and all stakeholders to explore, discuss and share ideas and knowledge related to innovative and onsite library services in digital era. User Expectations and Requirements in the Knowledge Society Digital natives- curriculum - research,– career development and personality development – for academic, special and public library users 2.Information Resources and Collection Building Moving beyond library resources - resource reallocation – procurement, accessibility and connectivity, policy, resource requirements for various agencies - UGC/NAAC, AICTE/NBA, IMC, etc 3.Innovative Library Services innovative thinking, redefining information system and services – KM initiatives -knowledge based library services, information literacy - evidence based LIS practices and process 4.IT/WEB Enabled Library Services Alert/profile service using next generation web tools such as RSS, Blog, WEB 2.0 - e-learning practices 5.Digital Initiatives Building knowledge repositories for enhancing information access, OAI and open sources, user interface and preservation 6.Connecting Users to the Resources E-resources, ILL, Resource sharing, and consortium. 7.Technology Implementation for Next Generation Library Services HW/SW requirements, ICT infrastructure, information /web portal and security technologies 8.Customer Relationship Management (CRM) marketing of information products and services 9.Current Research Trends and Human Resource Management continuous learning & education, research and training – outreach activities, role of professional bodies in training and imparting latest knowledge, etc SUBMISSION DETAILS: Authors are requested to submit a copy of full paper through e mail format: MS-WORD, font: Times New Roman, Size, 12, space: 1.5 line, paper size: A4, column: single, reference style: APA, keyword: 2-5 words, abstract: 100-200 words, paper length: 3-8 pages in camera-ready form.Charts, graphs and photographs can be inserted only if absolutely essential at the proper place. Selected papers will be included in the conference proceedings and will also be published in SALIS journals. The editorial committee reserves right to accept or reject a paper based on the quality and committee recommendations. A declaration by the author(s) should be given separately stating that the paper has not been presented / published elsewhere. Papers accepted for presentation will be intimated to the first author by e-mail. The decision of the editorial committee regarding the acceptance of the paper for presentation will be final.
