Dear Gangadhar,
Consult the legal expert to halt the on going process to reconsider or
reprocess the selection procedure as you mentioned in your mail, the latest
G.O which says both Lecturer and the Librarian are in same cadre.
Legal remedy is the best way to get justice.
Best Regards,
Raghavendra R

Dear?Professionals,
?
Everywhere in the world Age, Experience and Qualification will be given top
priority while selecting an employee. But in India, it is not so.
?
After 10 years gap, in 1997, KPSC called for 65 Librarian posts in First
Grade Colleges where the Qualification mentioned was MLISc + One more
Masters Degree and Clearance in NET exam (Although MLISc itself a Masters
Degree). One person who passed MLISc, MA in Kannada and cleared NET exam in
Kannada able to recruited as Librarian. This is the irony of the system,
isn?t it? I questioned the same in KAT and at last succeeded to bring down
the qualification requirement to MLISc and clearance in NET.
?
In 2006, KPSC called for 73 Librarian posts in First Grade Colleges where
they fixed the required qualification was MLISc with clearance in NET or
MPhil. They also stated that candidates can claim age relaxation up to 10
years, if they have served in an institution established under State or
Central Govt. and selected the candidates as per that also.
?
In 2008, again KPSC called for 167 Librarian posts in First Grade Colleges
with same qualification requirement and age relaxation details. But now they
are denying to give interview considering the service rendered in the
institutions as per their notification.? Reason is funny, i.e.. the Dept. of
Collegiate Education informed KPSC to apply DPAR-1977 rules for the
selection of Librarian post as it? falls in ?C? Grade, hence age relaxation
can not be given for in-service candidates. But Lecturer and the Librarian
are in same cadre (?B? Grade) as per the Karnataka Govt. Order No. ED 09 UEC
98, Bangalore Dated 27-06-1998.
?
I would like to mention that there is no consistency in fixing qualification
for the post of Librarian in the history of Collegiate Education!?
?
I would like to request the different Library Associations to approach the
Higher Education Minister, Collegiate Education Minister to frame standard
guidelines regarding qualification, age relaxation.
